Yes. Very often employers assume that because an event is not onsite during normal business hours, the organization is free of any liability or risk. The holiday season is a great time of year to remind employers that any event that is company-sponsored or recommended is open for interpretation of risk and liability, regardless of the time of year. We encourage employers to always act with the same level of awareness and consideration when a company event is held during or after hours, involving alcohol or not.
