Libbie Wilmer

Libbie Wilmer serves as Chief Executive Officer of George Belcher Evans & Wilmer. She is one of Dallas’ best resources for creative group benefit plan design. Her work with large employers and her experience in banking and finance give Libbie a unique approach to achieving client’s goals.

She is a member of several professional organizations including the National Association of Health Underwriters, the National Association of Investment and Financial Advisors, the Society for Human Resource Management/Dallas HR. She is also active in numerous community organizations including the World Affairs Council, Dallas Museum of Nature and Science Advisory Board, Dallas Museum of Art, and Dallas Symphony Orchestra League.

Named by Employee Benefit Advisor as one of the Nation’s most influential women in benefit advising.


Thomas J. George

Tom George

Tom George is the President of George Belcher Evans & Wilmer. He has served as an executive officer with insurance companies and annuity brokerage houses. Prior to his 2004 association with GBE&W, he served as President of a bank-owned retail wealth management corporation.

Mr. George is a prolific speaker and author on the subject of the Affordable Care Act and its impact on employers and employees. He has addressed the Annual Meeting of the Texas Society of CPA’s and has been published in the Dallas Bar Association FLS newsletter.

Mr. George served as President of a School Board. He is also past-President of his church’s Parish Pastoral Council and a past member of the Jesuit College Preparatory School Committee for Leadership and Diversity. He continues to serve his church and community in a variety of volunteer positions.

Charles E. Belcher, CLU, ChFC

Charles E. Belcher

The year 1964 marked the beginning of Charles Belcher’s prolific insurance career. He started with Southwestern Life in direct sales and marketing of individual life, health and disability insurance products. In 1983, Mr. Belcher joined Sedgwick James of Dallas as an employer consultant specializing in the design and development of employee benefit plans.

Mr. Belcher serves his community as a Director of the Dallas Estate Planning Council and as a Past President of the Society of Chartered Life Underwriters, the North Dallas and Park Cities Kiwanis Club and the Dallas Founder Lions Club. He is an active member of the Dallas Rotary Club, the Dallas Petroleum Club and is a board member of the Dallas All Sports Association.


Sheri Martinez

Sheri Martinez

Sheri L. Martinez is GBE&W’s newest partner. Her career in the employee benefits industry began with a Dallas-based third party administrator in 1991. She joined the Michael G. Evans Company in 1998 as an account executive. The Michael G. Evans Company became Evans & Wilmer in 2001. In the 2007 merger of Evans & Wilmer and Insurance Management Services, Mrs. Martinez rose to the position of Senior Account Executive for the newly formed and growing GBE&W. As a partner, she will continue in her role as Senior Account Executive. One of Sheri’s satisfied clients writes, I am so thankful for her patient approach to serving our employees and am amazed at her kindness, diligence, expertise and ever present smile.

 

Sheri Martinez is active in her church as a Sunday school teacher, has been happily married to Charles J. Martinez for 17 years and is the proud mother of two children.


Barry Johnson

Barry Johnson

After graduating from college with an accounting degree, Barry entered the insurance and financial services industry in 1972. Two years later he formed his company, which later became known as Johnson Financial Group. Barry received his Chartered Life Underwriter designation in 1981, his Chartered Financial Consultant designation in 1985, his Certified Financial Planner designation in 1995, his Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation in 2011, his Certified in Long-Term Care designation in 2015, and his Accredited Estate Planner® designation in 2018. Effective July 1, 2016, the group benefits division of JFG was merged into GBE&W.

Barry and his wife Barbara have been married for 42 years, have two married daughters, one married son, and ten grandchildren.


Joe D. Beith

Joe D. Beith

Joe entered the insurance industry in 1964. His introduction to the industry was as a benefit plan administrator with International Harvester. Mr. Beith joined Sedgwick James in 1976 as Vice President of Employee Benefits where he advised large employer groups with emphasis on the emerging self-funded arena. Mr. Beith, a Senior Vice President, is respected as one of our country’s foremost experts on the marketing and design of partially self funded benefit plans.

Mr. Beith is the past-President of the Association for Independent Living (AFIL).
